Half Life 2 models on HDR rendering

Not trying to be an a** but the demo you mentioned is this: RTHDRIBL: Real-Time High-Dynamic Range Image Based Lighting. I know it's hard to remember but I've seen too many abbr. floating around the internet. Cheers.

    DirectX9 vs DirectX10 *again*

First of all, Dropping DirectSound doesn't mean it'll render in "software". It's just another driver model as WDDM in graphics. We don't know how well Vista Kernel Mixer can perform but I believe this can allow sound card IHVs to better control their audio driver model.

Intel excuse for no GMA900 WDDM driver: no "HW Scheduler" no driver

So..you mean you can't explain it and want people just simply to believe that and don't ask questions? uh, ok.

Intel excuse for no GMA900 WDDM driver: no "HW Scheduler" no driver

I would guess no. Because GMA900 and GMA950 has no significant difference besides GMA950 added PS3.0 support.

    HK PC Parts Shopping

Hong Kong's hardware situation isn't any better. There are quite many brands that didn't make through HK, like Albatron, DFI, OCZ, Tagan, etc. And because Hong Kong market is relatively small, the choice isn't really bigger than mainland China. My family is in HK and I'm now studying in...

    Aftermarket cooling suggestions for X1900XTX?

back to topic. I did the same thing. I returned my eVGA 7900GT SS and got a HIS IceQ3 X1900XT. HIS actually has IceQ3 solution for both X1900XT and XTX and they don't cost an additional arm. The total price I counted is similar as you purchase a regular X1900XT plus an aftermarket cooling...

    Aftermarket cooling suggestions for X1900XTX?

Of course. If you need good airflow in your case, additional case fans are a must, therefore added noise level. My ear is very sensitive to constant background noise, especially when I'm listening to music. So the noise level is pretty important to me. Besides, even if you have good airflow...

    Aftermarket cooling suggestions for X1900XTX?

There are no really good aftermarket cooling for X1900XT(X) besides HIS IceQ3. All other Aftermarket cooling solutions bascially circulating heat inside the case. This will affect your mobo and other components.
