Sorry to shatter your theory about US house wiring, but I actually live in Sweden. So I suppose swedish electricians suck :D

New monitor&new pc. Screen flickers with horizontal lines. Vsync? Help needed!

Okay guys, I found a solution and I thought I would share it with you. The thing is, there were 2 problems. First it was the v-sync problems which only occured in some games (that all had a v-sync option which fixed it). Then there was another problem: I noticed that there was a constant...

New monitor&new pc. Screen flickers with horizontal lines. Vsync? Help needed!

Didn't work :( No difference. I tried playing a DVD in media center as well and the horizontal lines were there as well. It was well worth a shot though. Maybe there's something wrong with my monitor? Since my monitor is only 1.5month old, the warranty is still valid. On spot warranty...

New monitor&new pc. Screen flickers with horizontal lines. Vsync? Help needed!

Yea I know. My old monitor pretty much sucked. I downloaded Riva Tuner but I can't seem to find Vsync among the millions of options in it. Where in Riva tuner can I find Vsync?

New monitor&new pc. Screen flickers with horizontal lines. Vsync? Help needed!

The refresh rate of the CRT monitor was 60Hz as well so that's not the problem. But I want to give D3D overrider a shot though. But I thought that was only possibe with Nvidia cards because of Riva Tuner (which I assume is nvidia related?) A link where I could download this would be greatly...

New monitor&new pc. Screen flickers with horizontal lines. Vsync? Help needed!

Yes, I meant tearing. Since vsync solves the problem in all games that support it as an ingame option. I do believe the v-sync in catalyst control center is broken. It doesn't matter whether I turn it on or off, it doesn't work. I haven't tried watching a DVD on my monitor yet, but I hope...

Which main/Motherboard out of these two?

Thanks for the tip, I didn't see that motherboard before. It's only 70 crowns more (Which is about 10 USD). And I see that it has crossfire support which is nice. More suggestions are very much welcome

Which main/Motherboard out of these two?

Since you've already helped me on this forum with my DDR2 issue, I'm hoping you can help me with this problem as well. I've stumbled across two mainboards at the exact same price and I don't know which to choose. The first one is the ASUS P5K SE/EPU IP35 GBLAN 8CH SOCKET 775 ATX...

    800Mhz or 1066 RAM for Quad Q6600???

I'm not following you guys anymore but the only thing I want to know is that the pc2-6400(800Mhz) memories will be enough for me to overlock my Q6600 to about 3Ghz then if I just get a proper cooling system?

    800Mhz or 1066 RAM for Quad Q6600???

You got that right, I am confused. I understood only half of what you were trying to explain. There are the two memories I've been looking at: MUSHKIN VALUE SERIES 4GB DIMM DDR2 800MHZ PC6400 (2X2GB) MUSHKIN XP2 SERIES 4GB DIMM DDR2 1066MHZ PC8500 (2X2GB) I hope you can shed some light...

    800Mhz or 1066 RAM for Quad Q6600???

I'm going to buy a new computer with the Intel Quad Q6600 1066Mhz processor. Now I'm wondering whether I should go with 4GB 800Mhz RAM or 4GB 1066Mhz RAM. Since the processors' bus speed is 1066 it feels natural to go with the 1066Mhz, but to go with that I need to buy a more expensive...
