    I have seen demos on the 9700 of displacement mapping and it seems to be working fine. Some parts will be in my Hercules report. But the problem is that Hercules was not allowed to show me everything, as DirectX 9 is not out there yet...ATI is allowed to show everything in Dx9, Hercules is not...
