Unfortunately this is not true. Else you would see accelerator cards for all major offline renderers. Some attempts have been made and all of them failed miserably. Current real time 3D graphics are constrained by what the GPUs can do.

The ban is not about that, it's about counterfeit controllers. So if you bought a SQNY Dualshock (High quality Chinese) for $10 and it stopped working your are SOL.

You need to grab Nightfall in Middle Earth. As a Tolkien and BG fan I find it a master piece.
