Happy you guys loved the video. I loved it too. Interestingly, ubisoft wanted to do a tech interview last year but the game got delayed so it fell away. Then we started contact again last month and pushed for it as side content to a main pc video. But this last week, due to sickness, I was not...
I am actually not sure if it is on XSX, but I know 100% it is on XSS at least lol sorry. It should also be there for Doom The Dark Ages when that comes out I imagine.
The menu always says CPU no matter what. According to Kaldaien, it actually is GPU Decompression. You can check that out using Special-K to verify that.
I want to make a video on it when ever I get time. Testing the most similar GPUs that I own. I have far less Radeons than I have Nvidia GPUs...
I am not exactly sure! Rich did the 5070 Ti performance recordings for me as I do not have a 5070 Ti, only an RX 9070 XT. He was a bit surprised too, but the numbers are there. I cannot double check on my end.
The only thing I can say is that Ratchet and Clank is pretty bad on Nvidia GPUs in...
With no RT there, with no continuous LOD, poor indirect lighting and all in an arid and empty desert (one of the easiest biomes to render in real-time rendering). I really have no idea what is wrong.
I think Nvidia needs to open source all GPU PhysX up until the cut off date which is no longer supported by RTX 5000. I am going to push hard for that publicly.
As the backward compatability performance on RTX 5000+ into the future is completely unacceptable in these classic PC titles.
While...
Whatever their indirect lighting was before it mainly, only, captured sky colour (blue) and none of the colour of bounce from sunlight. So areas that were in shadow can go from blue to orangish from the sunlight bouncing.
second link from Techpowerup is Crysis 2
The first source of benches is for Crysis 1, where yes, 5970 technically might have scored an average above 60 fps in the bench run (completely ignore CPU there which definitely could not do Crysis at flat 60 yet at 1080p). But given how it is an ATi...
I think the claim about Doom 3 is regarding its highest texture setting only running on GPUs with higher than 256 mb VRAM - which in August 2004 did not exist.
This should be on an RTX 5080 if I recall. So, Blackwell. IMO compile the samples if you can to try it out, perhaps we can throw some more data in this thread (or better yet the MegaGeo Thread that exists).
