Yeah that person contacted us and we are for sure interested in it. Testing such a thing with all the reconstruction techniques/upscalers I think is the big challenge!
It drops res in CBR mode quite often, that is why 1440p with DLSS performance can look anyway similar, because it can be around that res with CBR on while in gameplay pretty often.
If you wanna see how it can dip resolution in that mode on PS5, just watch the opening cutscene, there are a lot...
Unless the PS5pro has things like SER, traversal accelleration, or Opacity Micromaps... i would wait a bit before we start saying what RT performance it has...
Do they have a reference path Traced to See how it should Look in ground truth? It would be nice If they did.
Also AFAIK, NRC should also do specular bounces. You See good evidence of that?
Raybox/Ray triangle is Just one Part of a Long RT Pipeline. What about traversal accelleration? What about Ray sorting or Material sorting?
What about anything else?
They actually do not TMK! That is why is one reason why it looks so soft.
crtl + f "CPU".
I see no one is talking about the CPU? That is a pretty important thing.
Post-processing always makes this very hard to actually know I find. Ever since I spent time talking to Epic about it, I realised that exposure settings of the game camera are actually even more important at times than the amount of real GI bounces. Exposure can make a scene brighter or lighter...
DLSS does not have per-game training since version 2.0. Same with XeSS. So that would be industry standard at this point. FSR2 does not do training as it has no ML component. 2 milliseconds frame-time execution cost would have to be thought relatively - MODERN DLSS costs I think at 4K roughly...
I tested this recently btw out of curiosity. The PhysX causes huge stutters on the medium and High setting, but not on the low setting. The medium and high setting must have some sort of awful bug with them.
The flow Control "fix" @Davros is pure BS.
People are Just seeing one Run with shaders Not Compiler, applying some snake oil fix, and then running the Game again.
That does nothing.
