Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

That argument makes zero sense. People weren't exactly unfamiliar with 3D graphics by the time the 360 came out. We already had 2 previous generations of 3D polygonal graphics. You act like the jump from N64/PSX to GC/PS2 didn't come with hurdles; or even it's own experience from the previous...

Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

This is just by me eyeing the screen shots, but I really don't see the concern over the Wii U GPU being underpowered during this stage in time. This is an Xbox 360 launch game. I picked this screen shot because it was one of the first screens unveiled. The game incomplete to say the least. The...

Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

They've always gave out specs. Only the Wii and 3DS. Nintendo also never gave out specs to look good. They're the only ones that gave out real world performance numbers rather than theoretical numbers. That's why to this day, people still think the Gamecube is weaker than the PS2. Let's face...

Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

I hate to say this, but I think you guys are going to be pretty disappointed this E3. I have a feeling Nintendo is not going to release their specs. They haven't done so for the Wii and even with the fairly respectable hardware like the 3DS, all we can rely on are leaks, vague leaks at that. I...

    Next Gen 2D Graphics

Heck, even from a still image, cel-shading still doesn't looks quite right yet. You are still very much aware of it being 3D polygonal graphics. Muramasa on the Wii looks amazing, but the way it's animated almost looks like a flash game.

    Next Gen 2D Graphics

One thing I hate about current gen cel-shading (yeah, I know it's not really 2D) is that there's a very artificial look to it. Like you can tell it's cel-shading. I hope next gen cures this problem.

Hyrule Field in OOT for the N64.

Pretty low poly by today's standard, or pretty low poly even by N64 standards?

Hyrule Field in OOT for the N64.

Really? I never heard of the system being originall designed with 8 megs of RAM. I mean, I know about the RAM pak, but wasn't that also designed because it worked with the 64DD? What is the N64's peak polygonal performance? Wikipedia says 150,000, but Nintendo Power and Next Generation Mag...

Yeah, for whatever reason, the direct feed release doesn't have as many effects as the full thing shown on the show floor. One of the most noticeable difference is the self shadowing that we don't see in the direct feed.

Hyrule Field in OOT for the N64.

Yeah, one of the things that pissed me off about the remake was them not adding enemies to Hyrule Field. The 3DS would easily handle more than just an empty barren field. While we're on the subject, why was the RAM Pak needed to create larger rooms in Majora's Mask? I thought the extra RAM only...

Hyrule Field in OOT for the N64.

I've always been wondering, is the reason for the barrenness of Hyrule Field for OOT purely a limitation of the N64's power? Do they make enemies appear at night because of the greatly reduced view distance? When you're adult Link, there aren't any enemies unless you count the ghosts. Is it...

    NextGen (ps4/xb720) Game Development Issues

Development cost is one of my major concerns for the next generation. It's crippled creativity for the most part throughout this generation.

    Predict next generation console names.

XXXbox Playstation 5 Sony is skipping 4 to make their system sound more advance.

Building a video editing PC. What should I aim for?

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Should I go for a lot of RAM or fast RAM? Faster RAM is more expensive so I can't have as much as cheaper slower RAM. Which is better?

Has television CGI caught up with Jurassic Park?

Good time to start talking about Jurassic Park special effect with the release. Watching it in HD, I notice in brightly lit scene, the picture quality turns to crap whenever they had to use CGI. Everything looks find at night or dimly lit kitchen.
