Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

On the topic of information; as a layman, I'm wondering what avenues for WiiU information there is at this point. Developer leaks? Hackers? Enthusiasts tearing the internals apart for analysis? I'm not at all against speculation off course, but I'm curious as to where the confirmatory titbits...

Wii U hardware discussion and investigation *rename

I'm sorry if I'm butting in, but the discussion in this thread seems to be leaning towards code quality and optimization across different architectures. Wouldn't the Wii U be in a rather enviable position though? Big development houses have had to port games between the far more grunty Xbox 360...

Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Ah, there goes that then. I suspected that it was a long shot to begin with. Back to square one.

Wii U 'Has A Horrible, Slow CPU' Says Metro Last Light Dev

Speaking of the CPU Kevin Femmel at gimmegimmegames.com has floated an idea about the clock speed of this continuing conundrum. The Wii Broadway CPU had its clock "hidden" on the CPU itself and there is a number on the Wii U CPU which can be construed to be giving the same information. The last...

    AMD Bulldozer Core Patent Diagrams

Does anyone feel like humoring a layman/outside observer? I wonder if there is any way for performance to improve over time through "easily" implemented code optimization such as compilers and/or (and I guess) libraries for the Bulldozer uArch. Could (really out of my depth here) microcode be...

    Quakecon 2010

Weird decision on their part in that case, considering the live stream it... why not go the extra mile and actually save the thing? Now I'm severely disappointed. Thanks for the reply though.

    Quakecon 2010

Sorry to revive an old thread, but if anyone has spotted a video of Mr. Carmacks Keynote in the wild it would be greatly appreciated if someone would link it here. I always expect to wait a little for a video of it but I'm starting to have waited a looong time now.

    GF100 evaluation thread

Will nVidia be able to release a card for each market segment akin to AMD? I'm amazed at the speed with which they're releasing they Cypress based chips right now. They have all their bases covered with regards to nVidia who have... two. Being that I'm not an expert on the subject I can't make...

*PS3 On an LCD Monitor? NEED HELP BADLY!*

*Facepalm* I should really start looking at the date on messages. Luckily I got an answer to my question though so, something good came out of it  Will I be needing a special cable to use it with an old and ordinary, non-optical, amp?

*PS3 On an LCD Monitor? NEED HELP BADLY!*

I've been looking into HDMI to DVI stuff as well for my screen and learned that HDCP as a standard is required for HDMI and optional for DVI, so some DVI screens have HDCP and some don't. It's really annoying but that's the way it is. By the way, if you have a HDMI to DVI cable what do you use...

    [360, PS3] Bayonetta

Interestingly enough the PS3 version is outselling the 360 one according to Wikipedia, I hope it doesn't give Sega any ideas. I wonder if any of the bigger issues will be patch-able, just thinking, since there recently was a successful patch of the PS3 version of Ghostbusters.

    [360, PS3] Bayonetta

Sega did the PS3 port (or delegated it to someone else, I'm not sure of the details), not Platinum Games who were in charge of the Xbox 360 version.

    PS3 hardware failure

Ah, well I'm not touching those then.

    PS3 for me

Wouldn't you know it, the screen doesn't support HDCP. I'll see if I can find a cheap one that supports HDCP, otherwise I'm off to update my PC rig. *sigh*

    PS3 hardware failure

Where is the intake vent on the Slim one? I've got pets. With lots of fur. Hopefully a thin mesh draped loosely over it (except the back vent) won't heat it up. But yea, when the warranty runs out, opening it for a clean would be the best.
