It's a toughy but my wifes PC has just had the memory changed, the motherboard changed, the hard drive changed and the PSU changed to try and fix a problem and the mofo is still just sitting there constantly rebooting itself or declaring there is no partions on the hard drive.

I'd try without any add-in cards. Then I'd try disabling as much on-board stuff as possible. Then I'd try throwing it out the window.

Yeah, sounds like. If you have a second computer, one possible way to go about diagnosing the problem is to swap the parts of your wife's computer one-by-one. But then, it may just be the CPU.

I've had my fair share of nearly undiagnosable problems like this before. They are most definitely no fun at all.
