In the following interview with Beyond 3D, Nvidia's Geoff Ballew answered the following in reference to the FX AA:
"Are they still the sort of ordered grid sampling schemes that we've seen on GeForce4 or does GeForce FX have any jittered / programmable grids?
The 6XS is a skewed grid, the 8X mode is an ordered grid."
What does he mean by skewed grid? Is this somewhat superior to ordered grid but inferior to rotated? Is the 4X MSAA on the FX skewed grid? It would be great if someone could clarify this for me.
Thankyou.
