U.S. Man Gets Prison Time for Illegal Chip Sales

I personally can't stand all the modchip shops out in the open in Chinatown.. I'd be more than happy to rat them all out if the police would actually do something about it.

that's pretty heavy IMO. Glad it's not me.... Reading that article really makes you think...

*thinks of his 3000+ and fast growing mp3 collection*

:D

This quote is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a long time.

Under the terms of Rocci's sentence, in addition to the prison time and the fine, Rocci will be required to serve five months of home detention with electronic monitoring, spend three years on probation and submit to drug testing and counseling.

WAH?!.. drug testing and counseling? Did I miss the connection between selling mod chips and being a crazy drug addict? :)

Or is it just accepted now that any normal person going to jail in the U.S will come out as a drug crazed lunatic?

BTW, I thought the mod chips he was selling were to allow import games to work with XBox rather then copied games?

Man, it drives me mental.. if the Anti-Software-Piracy-Cops (whatever acronym they use) even took a stroll through China Town (or even Pacific Mall in Toronto), I dont think a single store would get out without a huge fine. Frickin binders full of burned PS2 games, giant posters saying "Pre-Modded PS2/Xboxes! Play burned games!", or even "While You Wait" modding. On my last trip to Pacific Mall, I did not see a single, solitary legal/retail PS2 game out of any store there.

Like christ, stop going after ISONews and take a stroll through China Town for chrissake.
