What I'm wondering is what happened to the Grass-Shading in the early scenes.

Heh... I had a feeling somebody would point out such a thing. Makes me wonder how they are going to animate them all. A Mexican Wave would be pretty cool, lol.
Betcha it won't be as 'fun' as Mario Tennis anyway

I played alot of virtual tennis on the dreamcast and it didn't look nearly as good as this game. I found myself spending a lot of time looking at the MS sports titles this year, and found them to all look exceptional. NBA, NHL, (actually didn't get a good look at NFL), golf, snowboarding all looked incredible (I didn't see fishing though). I actually can't wait to play NHL Rivals since it appears to be the most realistic looking hockey game around and gameplay wise seems really good so far. I do know they also have some canadians workingont eh game (thank god!)
The speed of it was extremly realistc, as were the animations. I'm really picky for animation and I found that the players were acually leaning correctly when skating. It didn't feel like they were floating aorund the ice. I also i spoke to one of the developers and he said they completed the game once and scrapped it since they weren't happy with the way the AI performed. Now they have the AI good enough to release the title this fall. I'm real big on hockey games and I know that it is one of the tougher sports to recreate. The fact you can even play 6 players to team online is cool, one for every postition
links looked like it had the same controls as tiger woods, except slightly more realistc (which is good since tiger woods does a little cheating while playing).
XSN in general sounds bloody awesome!

Just saw a vid.
They're using the same kind of shaders that SFA on the GCN uses. You can't notice the grass unless you are looking at it from the side.
