Very nice..especially the thumbstick. Too bad it doesn't have a 3D graphics chip. Any pricing information available?

This thing is crying out for OMAP2 with MBX. Lack of 3D core is really a shame.

IIRC, Samsung was deeply involved with the first one (providing the ARM CPU). Couldn't Samsung have put their damn MBX license to use for this thing? What are they saving it for? Talk about a missed opportunity.....

You wonder what the price difference would have been to go ARM+MBX instead of dual ARM ... can't be earthshattering. Missed oppurtunity indeed.

Is it me or does this look like they are switching focus of GP line from gaming to video playback? Look at all those MPEG4 codecs supported, while gaming is under "additional" functions, along with ebooks...

Also, it's interesting that the video coprocessor (ARM940T) is more advanced part than the host processor (ARM920T).

XGP with 3D acceleration chip and twisting LCD.

I am interested to hear what's the chip providing hardware 3D acceleration for this one too. ;)

You know, the more I look, the more I think that bizneeyatch is too big for just a 3D hardware. I think it has a PCMCIA or CF sized hard drive inside.

Why haven't they included an complete keyboard? With an complete qwerty-layout this thing would be an nice PDA/internet-access-device/all-in-one-gadget too.

Otherwise it looks _great_

[edit]:

Maybe instead of including an complete keyboard they should have used an combination of the FASTAP-layout and the DELTA2-system.

I'm still wondering that I have not seen an mobile phone or an PDA with this systems yet

No 3D Acceleration

There isn't going to be a 3D acceleration hardware in there at all, Nappe (GPX2). Hope that fixes your question. It's already confirmed on their site. Quite a few things have either not been considered, or have been dropped, due to cost. I believe this is one of them. The general sentiment (Among the people of GamePark Holdings) is that it's not really necessary for their niche anyway. They like being a strictly 2D company at the moment.

Edit: Didn't notice the other device there... the XGP, no clue on 3D acceleration for that.

Both the GPX2 and XGP originated from the same company. The Game Park designer split into two teams to each do their own system, and the GPX2 team was purchased by another company and goes by the name of Game Park Holdings. The XGP team, just going by the name of Game Park, is targeting 3D acceleration unlike the GPX2.

That's why I edited the post. I didn't realize both were accounted for on the page... (Browser issues at the moment so not everything's tending to load correctly... didn't see XGP). That IS a 3D device. I was commenting on the GPX2, which is not. I didn't know two groups had spawned out and started up different projects there, though. Learn something new every day, I suppose.
