The Method Of Developing ICO

I wish there had been screenshots and movies from the PS1 version.
Still, interesting read.
I'm kinda hoping they would not make a sequel to ICO. I'm afraid they ruin the 'image' that game has left in my mind by making something average.

They could just do a "sequel thats not a sequel" kind of sequel. Know what i mean? :D
Keep the engine (just push more polygons please!), keep the fantastic settings, but change everything else...

Blah, stupid idea.
What made ICO ICO, was the characters and story, not the engine.
Maybe some game that is set on the same ICO universe (with horny boys etc...) but as far as I see it, the story of ICO ended, and should rest in peace.
No ICO prequels or sequels, but a spinoff would be acceptable.
Edit: Oh, I see that was maybe just what you meant l-b, sorry.

IMHO the engine served the story and the characters very well, it is the basis for ICO's unique atmosphere.

Yep, just what i meant... ;)

Reading the article on 1up, I found this

he project was going well, though Ueda had a couple of new concerns. The enhanced graphics made the content seem too dark – originally, the storyline had Ico trying to return Yorda to her room after she'd been kidnapped by the horned soldiers. Ueda felt that the extra detail made such themes too vivid, and rethought the story to fit more with the new graphics engine. Accordingly, in the next movie clip, the shadow enemies have replaced the horned warriors. Apart from a short-lived white cape that Ico sports in this movie, it's not far from the final version, represented in the presentation by a clip from a PlayStation Underground CD.

Won't anybody have that PU CD???

I asked this at GAF, but nobody replied... :(
