TGS Trailers?

Thought it might be a good idea to make a thread dedicated to TGS coverage/trailers (as the last one was locked?).

IGN has some tasty looking DOA Online/Ninja Gaiden trailers up... for insiders. Anyone seen free mirrors of these around?

Anyhow, these were posted in other threads, but I thought I'd lump them here for convenience.

The tgs post had pictures of girls in it and had nothing to do with consoles. I suggest finding another site to look at pictures of girls or go out and meet women.
As the title of my thread said "TGS 2003 Visual Impressions", there were links of show floor, conferences, presentations and booth girls. So every link was related to TGS and therewith to consoles. My gosh, you sound like I was posting random porn. I also encouraged to post other TGS related stuff:

BTW ... anybody feel free to post interesting TGS stuff here. Screenshots, articles, everything is welcome!
I am sorry, if anyone was offended by the booth girl links, but locking up the thread for it?! A edit or a PM that I should remove the links would have been fine too. How about stopping 8 pages of de-railing next time (like it happend in the Killzone thread), that would be a useful moderator-action ...

Grall: Killer 7 Pre-TGS Update

ChryZ:

Thanks.

Not much info, but hey, it sounds good! Hopefully the plot won't be too corny. ;) Would be nice if some game company hired a REAL detective novel writer to do the plot, but the known authors would probably be too expensive...

Anyway, Killer7 looks so darn good, I just have to have this game. Hope I won't have to wait until this time next year before I can play it. :(

Project Number 03 was kinda so-so, we haven't got Viewtiful Joe here in Euroland yet, which was the fourth Nintendo-exclusive GC game? I heard some mumblings about it getting cancelled.

Grall: RE4 is the fourth Capcom GC exclusive, and the fifth (the cancelled one) is called Dead Phoenix.

Aug 13th 2003 10:23 by Tim

Capcom has pulled the plug on its ambitious Dead Phoenix project...

Capcom Japan officialy announced it has cancelled two of its project - Red Dead Revolver for the PlayStation 2 and Dead Phoenix for the GameCube.

The sites for the two titles have been deleted from Capcom's official Web site, and the games were taken off the release schedule list.

Most of us at Cube-Europe had Dead Phoenix in our most wanted list. We hope Capcom will decide one day to pick up developtment of the game again.

In the past few weeks, Capcom has now announced the cancellation of a total of three titles (Capcom Fighting All Stars, Red Dead Revolver, and Dead Phoenix).

Source: GameSpot

And 15 days later on the same site

http://www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=5270

While having a chat with the a producer from Capcom of Japan, we acquired some interesting information regarding the supposedly cancelled Dead Phoenix!
Cube-Europe had an exclusive Q&A session with Atsushi Inaba, the producer of Viewtiful Joe. We asked him what the deal was with Dead Phoenix, and got a very interesting reply.

Atsushi told us that he did not know that a rumour regarding the cancellation of Dead Phoenix was being spread over the internet. In fact, he told us that the game is still in development at the Capcom studios in Japan.

When we said the famitsu contained an article claiming Capcom officially cancelled the game, he replied saying that he has a good relationship with the magazine and he never knew they published that news. There has probably been a communication error he said. He continued saying: "Capcom has never officially cancelled the game".

So there you have it. Dead Phoenix is still being developed. Rejoice and dance in the rain...or the sun.

Holy crap, that Ninja Gaiden trailer is AMAZING, it totally changed my entire opinion on the game.

Definitely near the top of my most wanted list now!

Rez Creator Plans "Shock" Announcement
By: D. F. Smith September 22, 2003 3:25 PM PDT

United Game Artist head and Space Channel 5 creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi has a major announcement to make this week, according to the program guide for Japanese online gaming program Tokyo Game Lounge.

Mizuguchi regularly hosts the show with analyst Hisakazu Hirabayashi, discussing the gaming industry and Japanese gaming culture. This past Wednesday's program, however, promised a major announcement coming the next week, on the 24th.

UGA's future has been the subject of considerable speculation since Sega's recent reorganization, which combined UGA with the Sonic Team studio and shifted its focus away from quirky boutique titles like Rez. Sources close to the developer say that UGA did not get the better of the deal, losing much of its staff and autonomy in the process.

We'll keep an eye out for Mr. Mizuguchi's announcement and update accordingly later this week.

Didn't UGA get rolled into Hitmaker?
Nope, it's Sonic Team. I guess, that means no REZ2 :?

* Sonic Team: United Game Artist merges with Sonic Team to focus on games for casual gamers.

* Hitmaker: Sega Rosso merges with Hitmaker to focus on games for new hardware and mobile devices.

* Wow Works: This is the new name for the combination of Wow Entertainment and Overworks. They will focus on games for all ages on next-gen consoles.

* Amusement Vision: Part of Smilebit is merging with Amusement Vision to focus on cinematic, movie-like games.

* Smilebit: The old Smilebit teams will combine with the Amusement Vision people who focused on sports games. The new team will concentrate on sports titles.

* Cinematic On-Line Games: This is the tentative name for Yu Suzuki's new studio. The name is a bit confusing since Amusement Vision is now supposedly focusing on cinematic games.

* Sega-AM2: Although no longer headed by Suzuki-san, AM2 will remain relatively unchanged. However, their focus will be more on "serious" gamers with a particular emphasis on fighters.

Wow, sega's idea may be to fill in for what each team lacks by combining them, but I think instead it may just cause clashes between the teams.

Sonic Team and United Game Artist games are generally not even in the least related, outside of maybe art style.(bright and colorful...I guess samba de amigo would be a good match, sonic team did make that, right?)

I don't know who Rosso is, but it'd suck to see hitmaker stuck on cell phones.....they made some good arcade games. Ah well, portable game systems would be fine, but cell phone games usually suck

Wow Entertainment and Overworks appeal to about the same group(wow more from mostly being non violent, and overworks for being cartoony with a more serious overtone), but...hey, overworks made shinobi. Most of overworks games seem to Japanese only though, so I can really judge them only on skies of arcadia.

AV and Smilebit...I can understand the merging, they'd probably go well together, but I can't recall any particularly cinematic games from AV, and only the Jet Set Radio series from smilebit.

Smilebit and AV again- I thought Visual Concepts was sports...I guess by this they mean.....eh I can't think of any smilebit sports games, and generally racing from AV. I was going to say Sega Soccer Slam but I think that was Blackbox and Visual Concepts.

Cinematic On-Line Games- Woah...hold on a second, I can't recall any AM2 games being online, and I guess virtua fighter is sort of cinematic, but it's mainly shenmue. I'll be impressed if they can actually make a cinematic online game that's good though.

Sega-AM2- So not much different huh....but why "serious" gamers? I thought AM2's games were among some of the better selling Sega games(and perhaps why they remained unchanged) They really only made fighters anyhow..btw how come IGN doesn't have AM2 listed, yet they have all the other sega teams(except Rosso) listed, as well as AM1, 3-5, 7, and 9. Where's 2, as well as 6 and 8?

Meh, I'm just opposed to the idea of the sega teams merging since they'll lose their individuality, and it probably means less games coming out from sega.

Fox5 you know its not really the team itself that has a style . Its more often the lead art designer and producer that gives the game its look .

Just to fill in the blanks. Sega Rosso is best known for Sega Touring Car Championship, Sega Rally 2, Star Wars Trilogy/Racer Arcade, and most recently Inital D Arcade Stage. The head of Rosso (Kenji Sasaki) was also one of the minds behind Sega Rally Championship. I was hoping that they would be working on the next Sega Rally title by now, but that was all for not it seems
