120MB+ file. Site response may be erractic, depending on how many people are accessing it. Anything from 16kb+ to 1kb+ is possible. I recommend "wget -t inf <url>", or a download manager if "wget" is alien to you.

Why you don't want to click:
The technology is average and this will probably never be released outside Japan.

Why you want to click:
Direction and design are outstanding despite average visuals. Having killer licenses help a lot too. Highly recommended for fans of giant robots and Gundams.

I assume this is Super Robot Wars? :D

BTW, have any gameplay movies of AEUG vs Titans been released yet?

I have bought it the day I bought Siren and Axel Impact.

Played a few minutes and I don't quite like the way it is now. The robots and the terrain are now fully 3D.

I have seen people playing Z-Gundum at an arcade last time I was in Japan, it is a really interesting game and I am looking forward to the PS2 release.

Yeah, we got Fed vs Zeon in the arcades pretty quickly here some time ago, but no AEUG vs Titans yet :( I'm wondering how they did the transformations.. I see they didn't add any funnel-equiped mobile suits, like the Quebeley, as I was wondering how Capcom would handle those.

Anyhow, I'm on the virge of buying the Type 100 PS2 :) Anyone know if the North American network adaptor (and other accessories, like mem cards, DVD remote and such) will work with a Japanese PS2? Also looking at getting it modded and giving my friend my NTSC PS2.. it's an SPCH-55000 model, but no one seems to know if it'll need a new chip.

There are two clips of the funnel in action in the movie link.

As for compatibility between US peripherals and Jap PS2, they are perfectly compatible EXCEPT FOR NA and HDD. To be more specific, I don't think there has been anyone brave enough to put a US/Jap NA into a Jap/US PS2 and turn on the power. Or if someone did try it, there are no reports of success/failure. Even if you can find a report of someone succeeding, they may have been working with different PS2 models.

Warning about modding: there may not be one avaliable for very new PS2 models, so that must be checked. There were some reported problems regarding modded PS2 with HDD. I'm not sure what the situation is now, and my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think either games don't run at all or the mod does not work. You'll have to do more investigations yourself.

It took 16 hours for it to download at home. But when I did the same thing at the office, 1 hour and everything was in. I tried it one hour later again, and speed went down to 1kb/s. Probably depends on time of day or something. BTW its either a HK or Taiwan site.

Thats Super Robot Wars though, no? I'm talking about AEUG vs Titans.. no Quebeley o_O I'm guessing they're saving it for AEUG vs Neo Zeon (I can only hope!) :)

Why would the NA not work in a Jap PS2? If anything, it'd be a different firmware revision, and I doubt that'd 'fry' the system or anything like that..

I emailed modchips.ca and this is what they had to say about the SPCH-55000 (the gold PS2 model in the AEUG vs Titans set)...

I think its just a 5000X board ill let you know a friend has access to these
ill email you back in 1- 2 days why not just get the 50001 ?

Ugh. I really really really want that Hyaku-Shiki PS2, but I can't justify the cost only to have one game.. :p

Actually, it's in. I'm looking at the ZGundam feature article in issue 254 of DengekiPS2, and an AMX-004 Quebely is looking back at me.

BTW, you need to pass -t inf to wget for it to do unlimited tries and continue from where it was cut off. I have the movie in my harddisk, but no server to upload to.

I got about half of that movie, and SRW:SC looks awesome!! But it also looks very importer-unfriendly :( Only SRW I've played was the translated 3 for SNES, and I absolutely love it!

Re: the Quebeley... kickass! It has to be one of my fav. mobile suits :)

Oh and just for info, the model shown is Hamaan's model. If you like the funnel, then you may want to look forward to.. dunno, 2nd installment after Aueg vs Titans? If there is one(shrugs). That's when Nu-Gundam should make its entry.

Well theoretically the next installment would be AEUG vs NeoZeon (ZZ Gundam).. however its tricky as alot of the mobile suits from Z and ZZ overlap (such as the Mark II, Hyaku Shiki, Zeta, Quebeley, etc). Like you said, they could always jump ahead to Federation vs Neo Zeon (Char's Counterattack) and have the Sazabi, Nu Gundam, Jagd Doga, etc. That would be funnel madness :)

Still trying to find some movie clips of Z Gundam: AEUG vs Titans.. any luck?

Just picked this up, but I'm not going to talk about the game but something else.

We've heard the occasional "when in-game realtime video graphics can match prerendered CG". The correct answer is of couse, to ask (1)CG from which year/decade? (2)How complex is the scene?

One thing to bear in mind is that although games can take advantage of quick advances in technology, so do prerendered CG - you are actually chasing a moving goalpost that is running just as fast, if not faster! After all they will always have the advantage of each frame being meticulously crafted.

And SRW:SC opening CG video is truly a testament to that. There are some snippets of it in the movie, but it should really be viewed full screen for the actual impact to hit. There are tonnes of details, art assets and direction in each frame. The prerendered CG "goalpost" just shifted - very far.

Apologies for the rambling, but that CG intro is really stunning - need to air it. And that intro score is also one of the best pieces of music I've heard.

Heh ! Indeed, that intro is really great and viewtiful. Many shops are showing the intro.

I can send it to you, if your mailbox can take in ~120MB. I don't think compression can go very far. BTW, I said visuals are average. Now I think it sort of borders on bad. A mixed bag really. The EVAs for eg., look quite good.

My latest issue of NewType (got it today) has a bundled DVD that contains mostly EVA PS2 games promotion video, but there is a Bandai games PV section that contains a 4min promotion video of Z Gundum.

Here are 3 snapshots

Looks very cool Maskrider.. I see they haven't given the environments and overhaul since the Naomi Fed vs Zeon :)

How does the transformation work, since only a handful of Mobile Suits can do them? Is the gameplay paced faster than Fed vs Zeon (which was great, but somewhat slow) ?

...and I don't suppose you want to upload that video to your site?
