Someone tried to charge $2k on me debit card?!?!?

Chase called last night to see if'n I had made a $2,000+ purchase on me debit card at Mwave yesterday, which I hadn't!

They declined, I lost nothing...but it scared the bloody bejesus out of me!

How? I used it to order at NewEgg on Saturday, but it SAID it was a secure connection... :?

Update: It wasn't my debit card, it was an old credit card that we no longer use and one that I NEVER used...so I'm safe.

Also, I played some phone tag with Mwave and they were more than cool to me. After about 20 minutes I had their accounting department on the phone and they were nice as hell and told me if I get them the CC # they'll be happy to provide me with all the details they have on the transaction.

Vengance will be mine. 8)

More than likely its bush (and his evil minions) coming to get you. You should blame them for installing spy monitering apps on your computer, reason it died. The govermnent is trying to stop you.

I'm very glad that my bank have temporary debet cards. I have a debet card with VISA. But if I want to shop on internet, I can surf to my bank and extract a new card number with a max limit and expiry date of my preference. So it's pretty much like getting a new debet card for every transaction, and then block the card when the transaction is done.
