Edit : These original Wii-exclusive comments are as yet unfounded. Ready at Dawn have not revealed what they are working on next.

The developer of two of the highest quality PSP titles out there, Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus is going Wii-exclusive. Like really for real exclusive, as in they've physically boxed up their PSP devkits and sent them back to Sony. This is bad news for PSP fans and good news for Wii fans, especially since RaD's PSP titles look better than a lot of the shovelware that's been piling up on the Wii.

I thought it was the same developer who did all God of War games that went to Wii. I didnt know the PSP version wass done by someone else.

Ummm, sorry, no mention of the Wii on the developer's site, and the one sentence in the other link sounds like speculation based on their one other Wii project, the Okami port.

Good news for Wii fans... I'd expect late '08/09 to be a good time for the system given a number of devs have begun transitioning to "big" Wii titles - Monster Hunter is a good example, but I'm sure there are many others looking to take advantage of the control scheme plus of course the amazing sales performance of the system.

Here's hoping they pull out some top titles.

Tenchu 4 was also recently announced for the Wii.

It is indeed idle speculation on Gamepro's part. Joystiq contacted RAD's president directly, who said that they have two titles in development, neither of which are for Wii. So it's actually good news for 360/PS3 owners.

I guess the print media is so panicked at being behind blogs that they just make up the news as they go along.

Ditto. I have yet to hear confirmation about what platform(s) the studio will begin developing with. Nevertheless, I am interested in their next project.

Yesterday I read R@D were boxing up their PSPs but hadn't said what they were doing next. Then I see this thread and am shocked to see they've very quickly announced their change of direction...only to find the Wii announcement is totally fictitious and unsupported! Please be accurate with thread titles. If it's only a guess that something is happening, append a question mark.

This is why no one can take game media seriously. They didn't say "Our guess is that they're focusing on Wii development." They presented as though it was a fact in the context of an article with quotes. In any other media, that wouldn't be considered a "guess," it would be a "lie." It's pretty sad that unless game media is quoting named sources directly, I pretty much can't assume they're not just making it up out of whole cloth, or that their source is anything other than the same website everyone else is looking at.

It's exactly the same with mainstream media speculating on mainstream topics.

MSM doesn't usually say things like, "Hillary Clinton has dropped out of the Presidential race in order to focus exclusively on the VP nomination" in as news article if neither she nor her campaign nor anyone closely connected to it has said she's interested in the VP nomination. You might find that kind of thing in pundit speculation, but not in a news report. So no, it's not exactly the same. It's completely different.

The Okami port got very high ratings. Is this a new thing where if someone who's made a game for Wii announces a game not for Wii, their Wii work immediately gets demoted to crap?

The Wii version has missing/inferior effects.
