Radeon 9700 OEM?

Looking through pricewatch, I noticed that several vendors have a 9700 OEM edition listed. Could this be that 'other' 9700 listed in the Digit-times report? On myinfinity.com it lists a core speed of 325mhz, but I'm guessing that is just taken from the Retail version. My bet is that it will probably be clocked at 300/300, but that's just speculation on my part. Anyway, ENPC lists an arrival date of September 25th, so I guess we'll find out then. It will bring the prices down nicely, anyway.

Hard to tell.

You listed an OEM version of the 9700 "Pro." Hopefully, all 9700 Pro cards (OEM or reatil) will have the same clocks. They'll just differ by cooling methods, software bundle, inclusion of adapters, etc.

Presumably (and hopefully), the "lower clocked" 9700s will be labeled as "9700" boards (non Pro.)

Well the OEM version at Newegg under the SEE IT link there is a picture of the driver disk, and it is a Sapphire Disk.
I certainly wouldn't pay near retail box price for an OEM card produced by Sapphire.
My Radeon LE card made by Sapphire was a real stinker, I advise people to stay away from Sapphire.

Sapphire Technologies is owned by another company that makes the built by Ati cards.

ReactorCritical is saying that ALL OEM cards and the same as the retail built by ati....

interesting stuff.

ATi no longer operates as a board vendor in all locations, so to push them out into the channel quickly they are supplying the vendors with their reference board (which are made under contract from one of the other board vendors). Initially most boards will be the default configurations and then you might start seeing diversities later on.

a guy over at [H]ardforum already has an OEM 9700, shows its clocked at 325/325

I have the Sapphire ordered from newegg.com, Ill find out when it comes in.

I have received reports that a couple of online stores have the OEM ATi Radeon 9700 Pro available. The key question is the speed rating on these. No one knows if the ATi Radeon 9700 Pro OEM will be a lower speed then the retail box version. Does anyone know the speeds of the OEM version? Are they the same as the retail box version? If anyone can confirm this let me know.

Update - Congrats goes out to George Templeman who sent me this update regarding the ATi Radeon 9700 Pro OEM clock settings. Thanks again George for the clarification:
I can categorically confirm that all Radeon 9700 PRO OEM's will have the clock speeds at 325/620. I am in close conference with Guillemot, ATI, Sapphire, Connect3D and Blisware and they have all confirmed the speeds will be as stated UNLESS it is the Radeon 9700 OEM which will have clock speeds of 300/600
