heres the good part:

From the same source we have also learned that ATI want introduce still before the end of the year the continuator of X800-reeks. Concerning the chip outside the code name R480 it has been only confessed that these Pci-Express only will become.

I don't think there was ever much doubt we'd see a high end refresh this year.

But it's going to be PCI-E only. So if you actually want to upgrade from your r420 and don't want to get an entirely need a64 / p4 system.. you're shit out of luck.

I thought ATI would be using bridge chips to allow their PEG-native cards to run in AGP MBs?
