PHP is fun, I've setup my own Web Server as well with Apache

My course requires me to do PHP, ASP.NET and mySQL for databases and nice looking webpages.

Currently we are doing PHP and I've been messing around. Very easy to learn.

Since I use XP Home I don't have IIS so I had to use Apache.

So far I wander, if there is any advantages in using Apache (current version is 2.0.x) over Microsofts IIS?

I use Apache, MySQL, and Perl for nearly all the web work I do. Apache ASP (Perl based) is far more flexible, and stable, than MS ASP. And since Perl and PHP share many similarities it's quite easy to migrate between them.

Will ASP.NET work with Apache?

Somehow I don't think that M$ will ever support or transfer support to Apache. :D

But I get the feeling that certain parts of the .NET framework will be supported by the open source community fairly soon. And integration between the two idelogies would be a great step forward for web based media\compatability.
