Pelican > Microsoft (faceplates anyway)

I just picked up two faceplates for the X360. Best Buy actually had a pretty wide assortment from Pelican and MS. I picked up a sweet metallic-candy red plate and a diamond plate faceplate for the low price of $9.99 each. They even have a three-pack for $9.99 (yes three) containing a Black, I-pod White, and Silver.

On the flipside MS is charging $19.99 for some very plain Silver, Woodgrain, etc.

I say boooo Microsoft, booooo. $9.99 sounds so much better per faceplate. ;)

Yeah the faceplates are horribly overpriced at $19.99... But that woodgrain one is soooo enticing  I don't know, I might just wait to see what they go for on Ebay...

Guys, I don't know if you watched the IGN video but it looks like a tricky deal to actually take the plate off. IT really locks in there good so be careful when you remove the original plate.

Getting it on however looks like a snap.

They guys at 1up say the same thing too and even demonstrate how to swap the plates from their video. Though they assured the audience that it just sounds and looks like you're breaking the plate but that it comes off ok. I think it's the actual bending of the plate as you're taking it off that phases people. Looks no different than adding RAM. Only it only looks like you're going to break something by removing it rather than inserting it. :)
