Thierry Nguyen, aka Scooter, mentioned a upcoming title to be featured on the next OPM (at about 24:00), "sequel to a very good orginal IP that came out last year"..."uses the ps3's full power in physics and graphics potential"

he put a hint of the game on his blog of an similar oil tanker.

my guess is, and i hope its true, is a next gen mercenaries 2.

I guess this isnt really the place for rumors and speculation but i figured I should post it since we should be hearing about it officially very soon from OPM near e3, which is next week.

It's probably the same game they refer to in that Develop magazine interview, and it's probably Mercs 2, yeah. I can't wait for this, the original was tops.

- Finally, there's an interview with Josh Resnick and Greg Borrud of Pandemic. Resnick mentions somewhat enigmatically that they will be launching what he 'confidently' believes will be PS3's game of the show at E3..

I wouldnt be surprised if its multiplatform, as the first one was. But then again, I guess I wouldnt be surprised if it were not multiplatform, due to the news lately.

What news are you referring to?
 
you never know if its play of words. that multiplate devs, that are actually OKed to doing interviews by the media, with notice and time to come up with a response are known to do.

playing devils advocate.

for example ps3 1 gen vs 360 2nd gen. if it is multiplat he may be saying its better then the rest of the 1st gen ps3 titles but comperable to 360s 2nd gen titles.
 
I guess I didnt see it that way. But until then we will just have to wait until monday to know for sure.
 
having most of my friends and some family ending up in advertsing, you tend to look at what the media gives you and call BS to everything till time or experience proves otherwise. kinda like buying a burger based on the pictures at mc donalds and getting the actual buger and wondering WTF.

Yeah I agree, PR and the media can be shallow. It was just how he worded it I suppose,

He could of easily said "confidently beleives will be one of the best games of the show at E3" or PS3 and XBOX3 and Wii. But like I said, we will just have to wait and see. We dont even know if it's really mercenaries 2 just yet.

We may be able to figure out the "playground", if you click on the pandemic link in the article and scroll through the pic, there is one of a land mass, looks like a satellite view. Maybe someone can actually tell where that is. I can't :p

Man, this game is gonna rock. Next Gen destruction at it's finest. lol When I get my hands on it, nothing will be safe. Once I get access to a Helicopter, if that oil rig is in game, it's soooooo done.
