Overclock P4 2.8 C

Built a system for a customer with an MSI NEO FIS2R and P4 2.8GHz in a beautiful Beantech case and two sticks of TwinMOS DDR 3200 memory for one gig in total.

I accidentally left it running at 250MHz FSB giving it a processor speed of 3.5GHz, the customer received it like that... I didn't realise that the overclock was still there but it ran happily with no increase in core voltage.

3.5GHz using the retail heatsink and fan - bloody marvellous. The fact that I did not realise this - bloody idiotic.

Oh and the memory was running at 500MHz DDR too.... I wanted to keep the system for myself but did not have a grand to spare

was the customer happy with it ? hopefully he will send you some busniess .

The customer was an old man, and he nearly had a heart attack when he saw that 3.5GHz speed...

He brought the system back into the shop and I set it back to defaults. Reason why he sent it back to the shop was that he could not install his own 'version' of WinXP so we installed a legit copy for him which he purchased.

V core and V mem still on default ? Imo pretty impossible ..

why not leave it at 3.5GHz? if its stable, great for him
