NV35 announced in May

I was rather shocked to see this...I'm sure most firmly believe this will happen, given the fate of the 5800 (normal/ultra).

With that said, is there a ray of hope that this thing will address the issues that plagued NV30? Heck, I'm more focused on things NOT relating to performance, such as heat, sound, size, less-effective/old AA methods etc.

In addition, I also believe we won't see any sort of paper launch either. Two times in a row would spell disaster.

Yeah, I'm with evildeus on this one - how were you shocked??? May has been the rumoured launch month for a LONG while now. I think I read somewhere that the heat and noise issues have been addressed, as well as plenty of bugfixes. Not too sure on the AA though. Looks like it won't be a paper launch, either (Hopefully it will be like the GeForce 2 GTS launch).

It won't be a paper launch for certain, NVIDIA have already assured this, seeing as that was a big mistake on their side with the GFFX.

The "bug fixes" as some people like to call it, have been ironed out in NV35, and the first signs of these improvements could already be seen in NV31, and in some extent, in NV34 as well (if i'm not mistaken).

May is the annoucement month and rest assured, it won't be a paper launch.

Current predictions put NV35 as the leader of the high-end market, snagging the crown from R9800 shortly after it shows up in retail.

what im wondering is if nv will follow atis lead and release their product within 30 days of the paper launch. If they do that ill have to update the bias meter, closer to the middle.

later,

The subject header is poor English... it should be "NV35 to be announced in May".

Sorry, but I couldn't resist :)

I'll believe it when I see them in stores...... BTW, anyone seen any NV31's or NV34's for sale in the retail market? ;)

NV34's should be available very soon, if they aren't already. NV31's are a little further out.

They are already in France at least :)

Is this a joke, or is it serious? Sorry, I'm a little tired...
It does look like TSMC got massive problems with their 0.13 - more than we had expected, in fact. Neither ATI or nVidia are getting their NV31/RV350 in acceptable delays, it seems.

And amusingly, this is playing against nVidia is *two* ways.
First, the later their cards are available, the more criticism they're gonna get.
Secondly, the more time the Radeon 9500 stays in the market due to RV350 delays, the least the NV31 will look attractive.

True.

As for 13nm NV had good reasons for their cooperation with IBM; no idea if it affects more products than the NV35 for the time being.

There was an ad in the paper (Daily Mail) yesterday for a Time system with a 128MB 5200 Ultra.

MuFu.

Geforce Fx 5200 is available in greece.

It's a 15nm product; if you should mean BigCity it states clearly an availability for past 10th of April in the fine lines, which is more a prediction than a fact for the time being.

Hmmm....this might be interesting if from a source other than X-bit *chuckle*....Too bad the "Taiwanese sources" know so little about the chip that they are unable to identify which FAB will make it....;) Of course, the other "specifications" loosely referred to here extend horizons no farther than those already explored by current Internet rumor and speculation. As always, when it falls through, X-Bit will forget it ever said it, or at the least blame the faceless, invisible "Taiwanese media sources" for the mistake. Wake me when nVidia ships something out into the review circuit with no "review guidelines" attached.
