New NF7-S2? Heard about it yet?

Hello All,

It looks like Abit is releasing a new NF7-S2. I wonder what has changed and how it performs. I can see that the N and S bridge now have passive heatsinks. I think I am going for a cheap board for an Athlon XP 2400+ mobile that can handle the large quiet Zalman cooler, but I want SATA for future HD upgrades. This might be it?

Any news on this?
Dr. Ffreeze

PS. Maybe just cheaper because no SoundStorm or FireWire after a quick review of bullet points?

Well I upgraded recently to a NF7-s rev 2 recently and installed that monster all-copper Zalman on my 2500+ on it and I gotta warn you that the Zalman cooler will NOT fit the board without modification.

I had to file a half-crescent into the side of one of the mounting brackets to go around a capacitor, but it was worth the 20 minutes of effort as the cooler is quiet and powerful. :)

digitalwanderer,

It appears that there is a new NF7 coming out, the NF7-S2 which is different than the NF7-S v2.0
