just today 3dlabs released some new drivers and in the .inf's i found this:

; Product Names
;
WC_VPDEV = "3Dlabs Wildcat VP Development Adapter"
WC_VP760 = "3Dlabs Wildcat VP760"
WC_VP870 = "3Dlabs Wildcat VP870"
WC_VP970 = "3Dlabs Wildcat VP970"
VIZYX_GAMER = "3Dlabs Vizyx T65"
MINI_NOROM = "3Dlabs MiniMiranda ROMless Developent Adapter"
MINI_BU = "3Dlabs MiniMiranda BU Developent Adapter"
MINI_ENG = "3Dlabs MiniMiranda ENG Developent Adapter"
WC_VP560 = "3Dlabs Wildcat VP560"
S63 = "3Dlabs S63"
obviously, they do have plans for a game card. also, you can check out the recent addition of TV-tuner controlls here http://www.tilebase.de/reviews/VP560/VP560_04.html. So far, there are no P9 / 10 cards with a TV tuner and most likely thats not something that would go on a CAD / CAM / DCC card. I'm not done looking thru the .inf's so i may add more in a few minutes.

update, found more:
P10Generic="Generic P10 3D Accelerator"
P10Generic2="Generic P10 3D Accelerator"
P10Bringup="3Dlabs Miranda P10 Generic Bringup"
P10CAD="3Dlabs Oxygen2 5400"
P10DCC="3Dlabs Oxygen2 7600"
P10Gamer="3Dlabs Vizyx T65"
P10OEM="3Dlabs Miranda P10 OEM Midrange"
P10ExtremeDCC="3Dlabs Miranda P10 Extreme DCC"
so what are these new Oxygen cards? Personally, I'm quite excited to see the Oxygen line continued.

well damn, no mention of the rumored P20 in the inf's. Now, its time to open the dlls with a hex editor.

update: well damn, still no mention of a P11, P15, or P20. but, i did find P10_Gamer and VIZYX mentioned again.

interesting.

just too bad P10 wasnt out this past summer alongside Parheli. P10 simply cannot compete with R300 or GFFX at least in terms of paper specs.

I'd be very interested in an 8 pipe, DX9, PS/VS 2.0 or 3.0, 0.13
P1X or P20 part from 3DLabs.

'Oxygen2' was going to be the name for Wildcat VP until they did a last minute switeroo. You'll notice that the Wildcat VP logo still has a sky/clouds image in it - this is really a leftover from the 'Oxygen2' name.

While not on the same subject... I got this email this morning with some 3dlabs card prices for Caligari Truespace customers:

Code:
Board Normal eStore Price Caligari Special
Wildcat VP560           $300                  $175
Wildcat VP760           $600                  $265
Wildcat VP870           $700                  $380

I assume that these cards are the older non-p10 cards, and that they are really only suited to DCC and not gaming, correct?

My understanding is all the Wildcat VP's that are out currently are P10's with the exclusion of the 560 which is a P9.

Yes, the entire line of WildcatVPs is based on P10-derived products. And actually, I'd rather have a P9 (VP 560) for gaming because it has a very good implementation of defferred rendering. But, at $200 compared with $230 on ebay, it's not a bad deal to grab a VP760 if you're looking for a pretty new toy :D

I thought the P9 deferred rendering wasn't implemented in the drivers yet?

If you read my review of the VP560 at ww.tilebase.de you can see, that Slipstream only works under D3D with this card. I am not sure whether Slipstream can be enabled under OpenGl but if so the first gaming card with a 3DLabs chip ("Graphics Blaster Picture Perfect"?) must have full Slipstream functionality...
