MS getting desperate in JP

Why would it be turning into the Saturn. It was a financial success for SEGA in Japan.

I don't think, he was talking about the financial situation ;)
I predict the next phase will be "toned-down" "age 21+" PC ports. :?

Or maybe Team Ninja is to blame - contributing too much influence to the XB demographic in Japan.

You do realize they treat sex differently in Japan than they do in America. Watch any Japanese porn  , lol

Sales? Yes... Financial? No...

In any case, Chryz picked up my meaning...

yes, but you're certainly not going to determine that from pr0n...

If anybody here has seen the Japaness movie "The weather woman" then you get the idea of what MS is trying to do.

Persuade people to buy Xbox consoles with a female weather forecaster?

archie, SEGA of Japan made a lot of money from the Saturn in Japan, it is the failure in North America and Europe that caused losses.

I saw this somewhere else. It's very sad that MS has to take this route, but atlease you can't say they weren't willing to try.

Yes, MS is willing to try, the last one seen on Famitsu X-BOX is the lucky draw which the winner can go a 3 days trip to Haiwaii with 2 girls (should be well known Japanese girls, but I don't know them :)) wearing the DOAX swimsuits (the relatively normal swimsuits) playing vollyball in a beach of Haiwaii. The last issue has a group photo of the people on the trip and some photo of the girls and the playing of beach vollyball.

That's called DOA BEACH in HAIWAII.

Even if slimy, disgusting SEXbox were free, I doubt Allard & Co. could put a dent in Japanese software sales. :|

However, if their next console were a collaborative effort with a notable Japanese video-game maker (like Nintendo or Sammy-Sega ... or both), then THAT would be a different story!!

So, This the next step of the "viral marketing" strategy of Microsoft in Japan.

OTOH Here's Peter Moore's interview for the very independant xbox.com Japan (j/k), he says that he believe that games/services such as Xbox Live Arcade, the Video chat service and Panthom Dust will push the xbox forward in japan...
He also added that he think that MS was on a 10 year strategy in Japan.
