dunno if the americans have heard anything about this, but in the UK there is a huge argument raging about wether a document used to convince the counter ( and parliament) that war was good had been edited by the government after being written by the security services.
It was apparently used by colin powel in febuary, so it's quite important..
supposedly as the government used word, word had all the edits,, and who edited it... derrrrr..

alistair campbell wants an apology from the bbc for saying the report was "sexed up". well looking at this evidence ( the word doc is supposedly from the no-10 website) he doesnt really deserve one...

note to self , turn off document history !!!

I dont know why people are only noticing this now. It was on newscientist ages ago, before the Americans invaded, this document was known as bogus
It was done by some profs at a Uni in the States, and the wording was redone to sound more harsh of a critic against Iraq, was orignally made in 95/96.

*true* the linked article is mainly from february,,

but it's recent "uk news" because the uk gov is in a VERY big spat with the bbc about this..........

yeah true, im amazed George Bush doesnt get some stick he seems to have an anti-s**t shield, criticism doesnt seem to stick. Blairs getting hell and Bush isnt being touched

I get the impression, from across the pond, that people aren't too happy with Blair unilaterally (there's that word again) changing the British constitution, or making like he's going to sign on to the EU without a nation-wide referendum. At least Bush isn't also trying to eradicate the Speaker of the House of Representatives position (or something similar) and sign over America's sovereignty to the UN while invading Iraq. People here would probably be pretty pissed off about all that too.

Doesn't really matter what's true to the average beer guzzling, 6 hours a day TV watching American. Ignorant and proud of it!

nah bush isnt changing his speaker or anything like that, his terrorism bill just makes it possible for them to strip anyone of their citizenship without a trial whenever they feel like etc.....
