"According to the AMD spokeswoman, Mark Osborne over at Fabtech "hit the nail on the head" with the following blog post, which advises readers to take AMD-related rumors from financial analysts "with a pinch of salt." Osborne says the financial analyst community counts few AMD friends and "many more aligned with bigger rival Intel."

Yeah, that's we all laughed and said it was not true when Apjit Walia said AMD was going to buy ATI.

Silly analysts.

Errr ....

It is likely true that many analysts are more vested with Intel.

That was a very minor point of the blog post, however.

The other reasons concerning the timing of the high-performance process node and the time needed to port a design over to TSMC's process are not issues that the rumors have addressed.

Apjit Walia said AMD was going to buy ATI.

different issue. he is not suppose to know any investment banking related deals. but i think hes from the canadian side, so it might be different.

but analysts tend to like companies when they are well and parted with companies when they are in a bad shape, just like a typical person that tends to buy when the stock is raising and sell when the stock is falling. :p
