I'm always surprised to hear this... their overall output is very low for such a big house. Rare really seems to have great potential, but after MS's second console with them as first party, I'm still wondering when they'll pop out multiple top-tier titles as they did in the N64 days. Kameo was good, VP was great, but otherwise it's been pretty poor. I even tried VP
A after winning it in a competition!
My real frustration as a 360 gamer at the moment is not "where are the games??" but "when are the games??" Seeing release lists with "TBA 2008" is getting very old given we're in the 2nd third of the year. As mentioned earlier, I don't doubt there will be a great library of games this year, I just feel my excitement levels dropping due to the low levels of news. In fact, I'll probably bite the bullet and pick up a PS3 or a Wii if they don't change their tune before too long, since my biggest excuse for sticking with one console has always been that I've had no time for a new gaming machine thanks to the 360. I'd hazard a guess and say I'm not the only one in this boat as the two competitors are starting to puff out a decent library of experiences I can't get on the 360 - Wii especially with SSBB, Sports of course and I'd love to try Okami and RE4, PS3 with Uncharted specifically of what's out now, along with "in the future" titles like a true next-gen Wipeout. Give me a reason to keep my 360, please, since the alternative is getting tastier.
I've also just bought my first new video card in four years or so too (a lowly 9600GT, but still) and have been slowly picking up all the ARPG/MMO trials I can stand. I'd love to try some of the recentish FPS's too, such as Stalker, given I'm a bit of a single player FPS fan... but I've had a friend lend me her WoW account and am partially back in the habit
Too Human can't come soon enough.
Back to MS.. VP2 would be a fantastic surprise. The first game is still (and I know I say it whenever I mention the game) 2006's GOTY for me, even though I still haven't got the Dragon pinata.
