Lost 16.5 FPS in 3Dmark2001 with the new 45.23 drivers! LOOK

Hello all,

I'm really disapointed with the new Detonator FX 45.23.. You can see why just down here. If someone has any idea why the Game 2/4 tests are dropping like that .. Tell us !

AMD Athlon XP 2600+
512mb 333mhz Kingston (Pc2700)
Asus GeForce 4 Ti 4200 128mb ( Stock card )

Someone can explain that ? If so ! I want to understand !

You are using a GF4 ti 4200, maybe you are expecting speed boosts from new dets. that will not be there. All of Nvidia's focus with new drivers are most certainly for improving the FX line (NV3x) and not the NV25/older lines.
 
i'm not expecting any boost at all with the new drivers .. but at least to stay at the same performance i was .. 15.1 FPS less on 65.3 FPS it's HUGE ..

From the 44.71 to 45.23, observations:

P4 @2.4GHz, 512mb PC1066, Asus P4T533-C, GF4 Ti4400, win98se

similar dropoffs on Game2 low (-20fps), Game2 high (-10fps) and Game4 (-10fps)

on my P4 @2.6GHz, 512mb PC800, Abit TH7-II, FX5200, winxp

3dmark2001, Game4 test down 20%
3dmark2003, vertex shader test up 50%
 
a41 .. there's two GPUs for Ti4200 cards possible .. NV25 or NV28 .. 2 differents batch maybe .. no idea .. mine's a NV28 .. no idea what's the difference about both .. if someone can explain that too at the same time!

Maybe these add some stability in games like DF BHD? I dont care about perf anymore... stability at all costs... tired of my 4200 crashing to desktop and hard locking in my fav game.
 
Dont seems to be a drivers issue your thing Pax .. Maybe your overclocked your 4200 a lil bit too much ... and who made it ?

I said this in a previous post....
The new Detonators took about 400 points off my 2001SE score compared to the 44.03's
Some cheats must have been removed ;)
 
Pax .. strange .. this is my second Asus Geforce card ... and i never crash/lock/or whatever you want .. never .. What's your OS ? and how much RAM ? 2 differents brand of memory maybe ? Incompatibilities between the kinds of DDR you can buy can gives you an infinite numbers of crash/lock/etc. If it's not the case .. well ! No idea for now ..
