Killzone in PSNext

"Mind you, the screenshots are one thing, but rolling visuals are altogether something else. Clouds of smoke drift across the weapon-scarred battlefield. Light floods through a skylight, casting dark silhouettes and diffuse effects a la Ico. Trees and shrubs bend in the wind against the roaring turbines of hovering dropships. And in combat near water, an impressive set of particle physics comes into play, bullets causing splashes, spray, and ripples as they pierce the liquid surface. Ignore the naysayers that said PS2 could never deal with this level of visual complexity. This game boasts a fast, powerful graphics engine that's clearly been built from the scorched earth up, harnessing elements of Playstation 2's inner workings previously left untapped."

Did you read this?It saids that it will push the PS2 to its limits NOT that it will be on PS3.Killzone Must come out next year as to shut up the naysayers and to have a kill FPs on the PS2.

he probably though with 'PSNext', he was refering to PS3, when in fact PSNext is a magazine..

Anyway, I expect many things of this game. If they manage to pull something off similar to what Kojima has done in MGS2 and now in MGS3/ZOE2, I'll be very impressed. I just hope that they keep the framerate in the 60ties and don't downgrade it to 30.

Ah, good point. I didn't even consider it, since I thought of the magazine straight off. Hehe...

Offhand I expect 60, 'cept with some loss now and then. (They seem to be pushing in so many directions, I can't swear by "solid" atall. But OH NO! I'll deal. ;) )

LOL!!! @ Psychogenics

PSNext is a magazine here in the UK, not sure u have it in the USA...

anyway, yes i'm really looking forward to the next game that provides the same level of visual gorgeousness ZOE2 provides. i mean, it really is THE single most beautiful piece of software i have ever put my eyes one. although i am sure that most of it comes from the magnificent direction of Kojima. some scenes really are epic and the way the characters interact with each other is perfect for a game. in that i mean, u never have the annoying 10 minutes conversations MGS2 had, but at the same time u can relate to them... even the (GORGEOUS) cut scenes are never too long... it's just purrrfect...

hopefully Killzone will be as balanced and gorgeous as Zoe2...

Except for the game being ~4-5 hours long ;) *shakes fist at Konami*

Why do people see the need to build a game up like this?
It's highly doubtful that this game will be this awe-inspiring.
Yet another reason you don't let fan boys wright for magazines.
Considering the game doesn't even support progressive-scan, I highly doubt it will end up being the $50.00 visual orgasm they build it up to be.
The game will probably turn out beautiful, but hype like this just leads to disappointment.

Is there a movie download of Killzone anywhere on the net? There was supposed to be a clip released about a month ago...still nothing? :?

i agree, i was flicking though the pages of that mag, and i was shocked. apart from "not having ANY useful information" it seemed to be written by children.... words like Bump Mapping were flying around like nothing...... i mean.... urghhh

I hope that KZ plays like MGS2 FP view.....it was AWEsome shooting an AK-74U and the other Russian gun....the feeling was great!
