Iraqi people love the USA.

Iraqi civilians flagged down an Iraqi Railroad train early Sunday to prevent it from approaching an improvised explosive device placed on the tracks near the town of Iskandariyah, south of Baghdad. Central Command said the bomb was made of three 155mm artillery rounds linked together. An ordnance disposal team attached to the 82nd Airborne Division disarmed the device, and the rail line reopened.

Well?

i do believe that a majority of iraqi citizens do want the US to get the job done right, and stay until then. However that story has nothign to do with them loving us. I think its more that they did not want their own people getting killed.

Its widely reported that security is a major concern for iraqis... ranks up there with water and electricity. Its also an indicator that on average iraqis dont hate or oppose the us... This is reported by liberal medias as well... I dont think we can gauge that opposition is widespread Its most likely only sunni and even then only a portion of them who still support the baathists... its still a major problem and could be bad enough to lead to civil war but we dont know that much yet...

as side note, water and electricity has been restored to a point where its almost always on. Better than any time in the last few years.

Well this weekends round up of news made a point to say it still tops iraqis points of complaints... We can make comparisons from under saddam when they severely lacked these 2 essentials but it might only be statistical and not represent actual significant improvement in the delivery of those services...

Things are improving tho...

Electricity in Baghdad hasn't been so good lately. (According to all the Iraqi blogs I read)
