I MISS BUFFY!!!!

I love Rumsfeld/male/female/transexual porn.

Why did you feel this reply was necessary?
I felt that this reply was necessary because I'm in the middle of a commercial.

You stole my idea!!! Damn you!!

Anyway, i need to go back to my Buff routine. Haven't watched any Buffy for ages, i'll have to go back to my workout.

People like that TV show? Meh, never interested me once. Despite the fine females, anything hocus pocus in any way shape or form annoys me.

I love Buffy! Great show, great writing, great acting...what more do you need?

I still keep me Buffy habit alive every Sunday night. Locally here we get a Buffy & Angel back to back starting at 10:30pm local time, it's kind of my weekend-ender.

Great writing is the trademark of all of Joss Whedon's shows. Walk into a comic shop and pick up the last few issues of "Astonishing X-Men" if you're looking for a fresh fix.

I think everyone thinking that Buffy is just a hocus pocus kind of TV show, should really give it a try. It is by far the best constructed TV show i've ever seen, and it's so not focused on hocus pocus it's not even funny.
It's one of the funniest shows i've seen, also the ONLY thing on TV, be it movie or whatever else, that made me cry in 2 occasions.
The hocus pocus is just the universe these kids happen to live in. The important factors are the love stories, the big baddies, the humour...

People should give it a try.

I love its internal consistancy. It might be outlandish and impossible, but it all meshes together well and follows its own rules of logic and the show don't break its own rules very often. :)

Exactly, Whedon created his universe which follows very simple rules of Good and Bad (for example the fact that once a human kills a human, he/she goes totally evil). And his fantastic writing added to that consistency and amazing direction (considering it's a freaking TV show) is what makes Buffy what it was and why it was loved by so many millions all over the planet.

Watch an episode of Charmed, then switch to Buffy and u'll feel like watching LOTR....

See, here's the thing, I hated LOTR.. except when it cracked me up. I totally missed the intensity and immensity and saw some trees walking, funny voices and off beat random things happenning. Take for example

"Take this, it will be a light *DRAMATIC PAUSE*... In dark places"

I mean CMON! How can you not crack out laughing? The rest was just boring, some kid carries a ring, people fight so baddie doesnt get ring, all is well the end. The rest is good film making, but the story just doesnt grab me, I want something I won't laugh at before I can take it seriously. Otherwise the emotions are all misplaced.

Thing is, I'm a closet trekkie, but at least with that they tried their utmost to make it seem plausible. Fantasy characters have no meaning to me, so when the film tells me "LOOK theyre hurt" I cant bring myself to care.

I prefer films like SLC Punk, Chasing Amy, Empire Records... that kinda stuff :)

Buffy is brilliant, though some seasons are better than others. Angel was pretty good too.

"I'm like cookie dough, I'm still cooking and not ready to be eaten yet - er, oh my god, did I just say that?"

"Xander, does looking at guns really make you want to have sex?" "Cordelia, I'm 17, looking at linolium makes me want to have sex"

"I'm an old fashioned gal - I was raised to believe that women have the babies, and men dig up the graves"

Anyone else have any choice quotes??

From what I have seen of Buffy, the writing is awful, the acting is wooden enough to make me believe a bunch of clothes mannequins could do a better job, and the ubar lame attempts at humor so pathetic it just makes me groan on the inside.

"Charmed" is about 21*10^4 times better in every way possible. Well, except for Shannen Doherty's attempts at "Matrix"-style wire-aided martial arts, that was pretty bad to behold but she's history now so it doesn't matter. :)

smallville kicks all thier butts .

THe girl that plays lana lang is hot as heck and so is lois !!!!

"Smallville"'s good too, I agree on that. The girls are pretty blah in that show tho IMO, if I wanna watch hot chicks I'd tune in to "Xena". :D

Aye, Buffy is exceptional tv-series. Actually I can't say is it because of excellent writing or good actors or something else. I was asked couple days ago to describe what makes Buffy so much better tv-series than the others. I couldn't say, I just asked her to watch it and then report back what she thinks.
