Playing with modified Xbox controlers, the engine felt rock, even in its early state.Control was tight and responsive with no hint of sluggishinnes or loosing target.

From GamePro

Anyone have a clue/gess of what tech are they using for that precision?
Mini Track-Balls?
It should not be software or we already got this thing in todays games, right?

PS:
I´ve read it in a scan so I think it is accurrate if not please correct me

What do you mean precision? Why can't they just be using the same thumb sticks as now? I don't see the quote saying that control was as tight and responsive as a mouse or anything.

last picture of the xenon controller was the same as s-type, but the b/w buttons were now shoulder buttons instead of face buttons

What does the quote refer to?

 My mistake

The quote refers to the new Climax game for next gen, Avalon a tatical FPS ( Quake version of Batlefield 1942 , sa they call ), using their new engine TomCat.

I did not say that, I ask and gess, I had no idea that they could do such a improvement ( with thumb sticks ) to apear in a next gen tech article.

But control can be tight and responsive even on current consoles, so I don't see why they have to have any kind of new input method. The quote doesn't seem to say anything about a new kind of input, or even that the input is superior to anything seen before. It doesn't even say it's on a mouse and keyboard level of control.

Well, it could be just me but I assumed that no hint of sluggishinnes or loosing target and Quake velocity are not possibly with corrent controls, at least I dont know any game like that ( Halo/2 is way slower ) or withou auto-aim.

So you say a software solution.

The quote didn't say quake velocity, and we don't know what the person who wrote the article considers 'good'. To him it halo 2's control might be perfect.

Sorry in the first quote i did not said noting about that but here I said

When I had talked about Quake I was speaking about velocity/reflexs.
