Have Webroot lost the plot?

I've been running version 5.0.7.1608 for ~six weeks now and it's definately killing my systems responsiveness.

A new feature appears to be very high performace fragmentation engine which randomly sends the hard drive uncontrollably into fits for 3-5 minute intervals. Disk Keeper shows the most heavily fragmetned files all having /webroot/spysweeper/ pathnames (as well as the system restore files). This is most annoying as it takes less than an hour after the weekly defragment to happen.

I formated and did a fresh XP2 install thinking perhaps I'd picked up something nasty, but no, it still persists, untill I shut down SpySweeper.

I've tried various shield deactivations but it has no impact.

I'm aware the minium system requirements have increased but I exceed that spec easily.

I havent tried Webroot for an explaination as I thought I'd ask here first (plus I've seen several negative comments regarding their level of customer service)

This problem aside it still seems to be working fine.
Anyone else having this issue?
