Geforce4 Go

Question: what's the real difference between this one and the Quadro4 Go?
I'm curious 'cause I recently bought a Dell Precision M50 (for the company, of course :)), equipped with Q4Go...

same thing , just with a special driver for workstation applications . Also there's some differences in the chip but it's pretty similar i would imagine

Great. o_O I've spent $4x00... o_O

I thought I had heard that the newer Quadros acctually had differences this time. Regardless, if you want to actually use one for workstation apps (not games), the only way to get "quadro" performance out of a GeForce of similar class was to do some specific mods, such as swapping transistors around on the card. I'm not sure it's possible to do this on the Quadro4's, however.

Geforce4 Go

How old fashioned :D

I just received an advertisement (from Mediamarkt one of the biggest electronic sellers in Germany) for an microstar 24040. It's an laptop with 15" TFT, 2,4GHz P4, 512MB DDR-SDRAM, DVD-CD-RW combi, 40GB HD, 56k Modem, 4xUSB2.0, LAN, Firewire and... 32MB ATi Mobility Radeon 9000. Price : 1799,- Euro incl. VAT

As you see, it's only the Mobility-9000 with the 64bit DDR-Interface (due to the 32MB RAM, the 128bit DDR-version would have 64MB RAM ). So the performance will be sloowwww :(

But ATi and Anandtech were right when they said "available within weeks"
