When I try to access certain folders, the PC semi-freezes. I have to shut that folder down, and Windows Explorer needs to restart.
It happens randomly, no less. Sometimes a folder will work fine, sometimes it will freeze. I've also had this happen with My Computer and the Users folder.
The folder itself is random. It changes depending on the phases of the moon. I have no idea what's causing this. I anti-spyware and virus scanned the PC, and turned up nothing.
It first happened yesterday, but fixed itself after I did scans, so I thought the problem was permanently fixed. Then it happened again just now. It started after I got a few porn pop ups while searching for a funny picture. >.> I did the scans as soon as I noticed the problem.
My CPU usage goes way, way up when I trigger the problem. Nothing's overheating(Checked CPU, video card, HD with Speedfan and Rivatuner)
Running Vista Home Premium SP1 X64. As soon as I close the window, CPU usage goes back down.
I'm gonna try a few more scanning apps, and see if that helps.
Anyone got any ideas?
Edit: It's fixed for a moment. I have no idea when it will come back...
Edit2: OK, I found out what was causing the problem. I've been beta testing a program, and it's causing the problem. I'll have to take it up with the guy who made it.
