Forza Horizon 5 [XO, XBSX|S, PC, XGP]

Spread out over a map that’s about one-and-a-half times the size of Forza Horizon 4’s, the 11 biomes represent the most diverse map a Forza Horizon game has ever delivered. Let’s take a closer look:

This is the largest, most diverse open world ever in a Forza Horizongame, with a vibrant, ever-evolving landscape and limitless driving action in hundreds of the world’s greatest cars.

Seasons will also be returning to Forza Horizon 5, adding a new layer of diversity and complexity to the experience than previous Forza Horizon games. What’s more, each of the 11 unique biomes will transition though the seasons differently. As an example, spring means the rainy season in the jungles and farmland of Mexico, while summer could bring intense tropical thunderstorms along the coasts. Forza Horizon 5 seasons ensure Mexico is constantly evolving, encouraging players to explore the world in full each time the seasons change.

Nice graphics, but I see a startling lack of roads that I'd actually want to drive a car on. This doesn't seem to be a game about cars and driving anymore.

I'm pretty sure they are still focused on producing a racing game even if they release a single blog post showcasing the diverse biomes the game has to offer...

Oh it's not just the biome shots I'm talking about, it's the trailer and subsequent clips, as well as the trends from FH4 that focus on off-road which moves gameplay to being all about modded AWD fantasy cars.

Lighting looks great. Some of the textures seems hit n miss.

This for example is a bit "ok." While the one right below is great. I'd say tress and leaves are generally the weak points in those pics.

This pic to me would a lot nicer without the vegetation as it clearly stands out a step or two below in quality than the rest of the image.

It's still a racing game where details stay on screen for a fraction of a second, it doesn't make sense to judge textures like in an fps.

The warmer color grading still feels weird to me. Hopefully I'll quickly gets accustomed to it when playing.

Fortunately even if I unable to stop noticing it, like my experience with chromatic aberration, the color temperature will be super easy to adjust from the TV settings. Unlike chromatic aberration that sometimes requires me to dig an ini file, or even hack the game.

I agree, but trees are one of the more difficult thing to do in realtime. I think one of the Epic devs talked about it in one of their videos on UE5, it's one of the harder problems to solve due to intense overdraw. I'm really looking forward to the day games can draw each leaf as a card.

BTW do you have an example of a game that does trees to your liking?
