Dell 2405FPW 24" TFT - cheap!

There's a fair bit of talk floating about on the usual sites about these babies. Here in Australia they've come in at $1866, which is damn cheap. I very nearly picked up a 19" LCD today for $720, but I'm sorely tempted with this one, which looks a lot nicer.

There's even folks who've bargained with Dell to sell for $1500 (AU). Excellent!

Anyone got any good news stories on these suckers ?

Not reached Sweden yet I think... I'm getting myself a new box towards the autumn I think, hope I will be able to pick up one of these bad boys then. The Dell 1905 LCD is great, I've used my dad's, but the resolution is "only" 1280, that's not much today. I run my 19" CRT at 1330 for some extra screen real-estate, 1280 feels rather cramped by my standards. Hence, widescreen would be awesome.

It will be very interesting to see how HP, Apple and others respond. The day of having $1500 - $2000 for 23" (or 24") are over it would seem.

Check out the Display forum at HardOCP.com. Lots of deals there for even better (~$860 + tax). In short, there are Dell SB Reps that are doing this.
