It's been a while since I stalked B3D, but some of the old timers (if any still exist) might find this amusing/illuminating from a nostalgia POV:

"The original driver source code for the PowerVR Series 1 GPUs : Midas arcade, PCX1 and PCX2. This source code is provided as a reference, without any guarantees that it will compile, or function correctly when compiled."

https://github.com/powervr-graphics/PowerVR-Series1

All thanks to a small team at IMG who did an archaeological dig

I know Rhys wast involved since it was released this century
I wonder why pcx1 needs scitech display doctor (aka univibe) to get framebuffer info only in tombraider? Could it be tombraider is a dos game and other powervr titles are windows ?

That is exactly the reason - it was an interface to query the graphics card's resolution / colour depth settings on DOS.

I don't know if you were part of this effort Simon but this is awesome! Thanks!
Only a little bit - most of the work was carried out by some young keen archaeologists, but I gave them some clues where to dig :)
