Capcom releases patch for Capcom VS SNK2 EO

I previously only heard about this bug when people were playing each other online. Unless it happens offline too, then it's a online bug. No idea how they missed that.

Regardless whether it happens offline or not, it's still a retarded bug. How do you miss the SOUND turning off?

No idea... it is a pretty stupid bug. At least it's easy to fix...

and so the worse part of pc games comes to console games. Next we will see unfinished games coming to the systems .

There's always been bugs in console games. Previously, the bugs would never be fixed and or the games would be fixed in another run of cartridges/disks released. You wouldn't believe how many bugs I've found in a number of sports games released on consoles over the past 10 years.

Online games are a different story when it comes to bugs, so I think you'll need to get used to occasional bugs and fixes.

its better than being stuck with the bug, geez..
on PC I have seen some of the worst, most put down and poorly
reviewed games on earth become some of the best games of all time.

they should have been the best game from the start. I pay 50$ for a complete game not a game that may or not be the best game in the world 6 months from now. u know what i mean ?

dont we all, but sometimes a bug slips through the cracks, and when it does, would you rather put up with a patch or live with it?

depends. If i go play the game at my buddys and he doesn't have it patched. Will it change the game ? Will it make it unfair for us to play each other ?

well, first off, when I go play games at a friends house, its a splitscreen game, so it would not matter, but say your going to hook up the system to a LAN, the patch can obviously be applied to his via that, so I dont see where that is a problem. How many people get XBL, and a game for it, but never connect to the internet to let it patch up?

So the patches finally come to console gaming. It is better than having the bug stay in the game, but this sort of bug really shouldn't sneak through to the final version of the game. Let's hope this is something of a rarity and that it doesn't happen again for a while. Bugs leak into final copies of games all the time, but usually they aren't so pronounced as this one. Bad rep goes to the dev for letting the bug go through, kudos for taking the time to fix it and make it available to all who play online. I'm sure this isn't going to become standard practice on the Xbox as I'm sure MS will encourage devs to not let this sort of thing happen. If there does have to be a patch, then it should be done as inconspicuously as possible, perhaps while playing a level and let it download in "quiet" mode. I don't know how feasible this would be, but if this could be done it would lessen the impact of "patches."

the thing is more and more games can be rushed out and be patched later... its a bad thing to do and its done alot on the pcs... once it starts happening on the systems we are in big trouble ... oh well back to zelda

Patching on set-top boxes are as old as Xbox Live. On the very first day of release (November 15) a patch was released for Moto GP.

It already is. The list of games that have been patched is rather significant. While M$ promised everyone who would listen that patches would never be allowed on the Xbox it seems that all it takes to get M$' approval is some kind of Xbox Live support.

There's a simple solution - Each patch that fixes a series of bugs should give you a $2 credit on your Xbox Live subscription. Sort of a "sorry this shouldn't have happened" bonus. Then MS should back-charge whoever is responsible for the bug. It's cheaper than a recall, but has the same financial effect, and compensates the consumer somewhat.

That would be a good solution, but with profit margin decreasing due to higher developement costs I don't think it's very like that developers will agree to that.
