do you currently own this setup, or are you planning on getting it. My dad has a theater room in the basement of his home, and it looks quite a bit like the bottom pic (only more couches). I dont remember what projector he has, but wow its amazing how much better movies look and sound. I think he spent around $20k on everything sound, video, furniture, screen.

I would eventually like to have a setup like that picture above. I like the idea of a dedicated home theater room. The thing I like about the HT1000 is that it duplicates the look of film seen in theaters because it's not razor sharp but has beautiful color. Plus you can project a 100"+ picture on the screen so it's better than the biggest Plasmas or PTVs. I would like to have the motorized curtains to automatically open/close too. I'm gonna wait for NEC's second generation HT series based on TI's new HD-2 DLP chip which even has higher resolution. The HT1000 has the highest contrast ratio of any DLP on the market which makes the blacks very dark and as you can see the color is superb. All I need for the complete experience is some popcorn and my gf sitting next to me 8)

BTW $20K is not bad. You can build a very capable HTS with that amount. Have you watched any films on your dad's setup? How would you rate it compared to regular PTVs, CRTs, etc.?

Its incredible to watch any movie (or tv show) on it. I hate going back home and watching things on my regular 36" tv. Id also like to have a theater room eventually when I get a place of my own.
