Hopefully someone will know
I will give you guys the same Mail I gave Gmax tempest:

Gmax,
Currently I have been able to get my Drawings done in AutoDesktop 3.3 to "GMax Tempest". I keep running into the problem of "editable brushes". when I go to turn my walls into "editable brushes" they disappear. The only pattern I have found is that the ones that do stay in Tempest and don’t get erased DO NOT have the following features:
-Other walls T into them
-Have a void
-Have doors/windows
I don’t mined that my furniture disappears. I can make better ones in GMax. But the Dimensioning the Walls and windows and doors and stuff are hard to do in GMax.
Allow me to explain the process of getting my buildings into GMax Tempest. I take a 3d drawing I have made in AutoCAD and close it up using slabs and walls(so there are no leaks in GMax Tampest. I then “File Link†the building file into “AutoDesk VIS 4â€. I then “Export†the file to a .3DS format. Because this is a .3DS format in VIS 4 I use a VIS 4 Importer script in “GMax Tempestâ€. Now I have my drawing in GMax Tempest. I was told that the reason I have no walls in GtkRadiant(when I go to view the map in there) is because my brushes aren’t editable. So I highlight the drawing, right click and select “Convert to editable brushesâ€. Once this happens all walls that are explained above disappear.
GMax and Tempest was chosen because of their ability to edit maps for Quake 3. Quake 3 was chosen for its engines ability. The goal for me is to allow businesses to see my work and get a more visual reality of it. I also would like to use AutoCAD to make levels(of course). AutoCAD is something that I am used to and excel at. I can make whole city blocks(Gaming quality not architectural industry quality) in a matter of a day using cad. I have been digging and digging on how to do this.
Is there a way to do this? Where can I get the scripts for it? Do you know of anyone that is experimenting with this? Please feel free to forward to all 3D related fields. I have invested a lot of time into this process. I don’t want to be stuck with the lame VR tours that are out there for CAD. Thank you for your time.
Thank you,
