Skype, zoom, hangouts, etc keeps peddling their apps.
Hangouts actually awesome, and only peddle their app on mobile. But I need a solution that have ZERO app requirement. Not even an optional one. On all platforms.
Why? Because my mom and her colleagues and the students keeps getting confused. Requiring 30 minutes to 1 hours just to set up the video conference.
Is there any video conferencing solution that super simple, like hangouts on desktop?
click the link and it instantly joins you to the conference. No app install nag, etc.
I'm okay with a self hosted solution. I'm also okay with manually hacking the files to nuke the desktop/mobile app requirement/optional.
EDIT:
https://meet.jit.si/ works with a click of link, no app install needed. But! you must select "desktop mode" on your mobile web browser setting/menu. ugh...
solved: https://community.jitsi.org/t/solved-how-to-enable-mobile-browser-in-jitsi-meet/29076/17 you can manually edit a line on jitsi file and it will work on mobile, no app.
