He is a professional, I have seen the video; the child really wasn't in any danger. This is just a case of the media over-reacting basically.
And it's only getting huge news coverage because it resembles what Michael Jackson did with his son(Although that WAS *REAL* danger), and we all know how huge Michael Jackson is in the news right now.

I saw him venting about it today and must say he made a number of good points. Aside from him being a professional, the guy has got alligators living in his backyard and it is a necessary danger that he has to teach his kids about.
I don't see the big deal, the baby wasn't in any real danger and the man had the situation under control.

When I first heard about it I thought it was pretty irresponsible. And then I thought, you know what? This guy has been doing this for over 20 years now, and that's his child in his hands. His wife/business partner also let him do this, and felt completely comfortable.
This isn't a case of wacko jacko dangling a baby over the side of a railing. It may not have been the best decision given the media flack he'd receive, but I think he was fine. Personally though I wouldn't do that with my child, even if I put myself in those kinds of situations every day. But that's just me.
