How early did you start camping for the launch of Xbox360? Did you get one? How big was the line/queue and how big is the store?

I arrived a whole 5 minutes before the opening of the store. I was the second person in line. We ended at 5 people at the opening. :)

It is a small store in a shopping center.

10pm Monday night with the store opening at 9:00am Tuesday. Store was getting 38 premiums, 12 cores....I was #35 in line for a premium. We had 50 people in line from midnight to opening....with a bunch showing up 30 minutes before the store opened and then complaining to management that it was unfair that they didn't get one :)

I heard the people at the front of the line started camping at 3:30 - 4:00pm that Monday.

(hadn't really planned on camping out...but a friend of mine was in line and kept calling me saying "we still have spots for premium systems").

Woke up at 6am, went to walmart they were all sold out. Got a hint to check out superstore, was in line by 6:45. I was #12 and recieved the last of 12 premiums. The 4 people behind me all got cores.

My buddy also got up at 6 and managed to get one on the southside.

Went to my Gamestop at 11PM, saw no one outside and waited in the car with my friend.

Then I saw people outside then I walked out and saw it was just a kid and his mom. My friend finally joined me and we kinda got bored. We asked the Gamestop guy inside for playing cards and he happened to have a deck in the counter and gave it to use, as well as xbox 360 T-Shirts. After that everyone showed up all of a sudden. Apparently everyone just parked outside even before I arrived and waited in the lot, since the store was only getting 35 units and I was number 35. They let the first three in 5 minutes before midnight so we can get our stuff ans at midnight when the register opened they processed people 3 at a time.

I started camping 14hours before Best Buy doors opened and i was number 37 in line. There were only 44 premium consoles and 65 in total at the store.

I was lucky...I went to buy supplies for my campout and say the line already forming and hoped into place rather than coming back later.

Anyway I got a premium but then the darn thing was broke when I got it home and of course there's not a replacement console in town to be be found. Needless to say I wasn't happy and I won't be until my X360 is sent back to me.

Around 9:30 PM.

There was about 60 people. Inside a Wal Mart.

It grew to probably 100 by the end.

All in all I timed things fairly well. I probably could have gotten there as late as ten thirty though and still gotten one. But that's just quibbling. I was quite amazed at the line though.

The store got 46 I believe, and I heard someone say there were 8 left I think when I got mine. The line numbers dont add up because there were many small groups or families of 2-3 that only bought one console.
