Since I posteed this yesterday, 10 new 2900s and 3 2600s have been added, no new 2300s and the 2400 is still missing from the list. . But 89 8800s, 26 8600s, 2 8500s, 11 8600Ms and 4 8400Ms have been added since yesterday.

You are asking the wrong person, send that question to Valve. It is there survey.

Since when is the Mobility Radeon HD 2300 a DX10 card?

SLI/XFire numbers:

Multi-GPU Systems (10948 of 856523 Total Users (1.28% of Total) )
NVIDIA SLI (2 GPUs) 10,476 95.69 %
NVIDIA SLI (3 GPUs) 4 0.04 %
NVIDIA SLI (4 GPUs) 2 0.02 %
ATI Crossfire (2 GPUs) 466 4.26 %

Given those numbers, it would appear to be a bit more mainstream than XFire is.

No matter which way you slice it, 1.28% of the market isn't mainstream.

Of course, this is a very specific market (one app) but it's a rather wide one with close to a million users, so it certainly shouldn't be discounted altogether.

Steam has WAY more than a million users, I'd venture to say at least 10 million on Steam, maybe not active but at least that have used it. The Survey numbers could be a lot lower than the actual users.

I was just extrapolating based on the numbers provided. No idea if that's an active user count or total user count though. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Steam has an installed-base of several million though. Then again, in context of video card marketshare, what good is it to measure installed-base for an app if the majority are not doing 3D gaming? Remember, Steam's "casual games" content has a lot of active users, especially compared to the other categories the enthusiast community more often associates with Steam.

I was asking it more in general...

And to answer my own question... The Mobililty Radeon HD2300 isn't a DX10 card but a DX9 card.... Says enough about the survey.

It's likely just included because of the family name, although it's nothing more than a re-branded X1300

I love tracking steam survey results. The Dual Core CPU info has been interesting to watch. I believe in the Winter of 06 it was ~4-5% of users were dual core. Now it is pushing 30%.
