So does the 6950 have the turbo "switch" too? If so, how would a "switched" 6950 compare to a non-switched 6970? The same? :D

I did some more comparisons on the 6870 and the 480.. 480 is 21.0% faster than the 6870 at 1920x1200, 4x, 16AF 480 is 46.4% faster than the 6870 at 1920x1200, 8x, 16AF So that 30%~50% advantage the 6970 has may turn out to be true. It would put it right between the 480 and the 580.

Yeah, I know, but I was hoping they meant cards that are "currently" on the market. :D So a 6870 +50% would put it just below the 580 I think. Try this site and see the percent difference of many cards. It may not be perfect but it's good for reference. It's not in English, but you...

The actual number of shaders is less than 50% increase. Only if your counting the clusters from 320 to 480, then yes. But the 320 had 5, and the 480 only has 4. So the actual increase in shaders is 20%. And my first statement was.. The article was saying that the hottest rumor was that...

From that link.. googled of course. Umm, why would anyone think the 6970 would have the same number of shaders as the 5870? I don't get it. I think it'll probably be 4-D shaders but the total will be more than 1920. How many more, not sure, maybe 2240. :)
