I think the more relevant chart for return of investment would be top grossing. GTA III is the 142th top grossing iPad game in the US App Store right now.

Problem is that you can't charge nearly as much as you can on a console. Maybe $5-$10. And only a much smaller percentage of A7-powered iPad owners will buy games like this. Also I was only aiming for 2008's GTA 4, with minimum PC requirements of a Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz and a 256MB NVidia 7900...

I would guess that you could kind of port (remake) 360's GTA4 to the iPad Air and have it look almost identical, if you target the iPad Air exclusively and throw millions at a talented team and give them at least a year... Probably not worth it for any publisher...

In the keynote they say "iPad Mini and "full-sized" iPad" quite a lot before introducing the iPad Air. I think "iPad Air" definitely sounds better than that... and I think it makes sense. Having one device name be a subset of another device name is rarely a good idea since it can lead to...

June 2013 WWDC iPad 5 release doesn't sound right to me. That would mean to introduce iOS 7 and an iPad 5 running iOS 6 at the same time. Right now I'm hoping for because IMHO iPad in March, iOS preview in June, iPhone/iOS in Sepember and iPad mini / iPod touch in November is a nice schedule...

So, what does this mean for the 9.7" iPad? 1) Apple moved the yearly release cylce to the fall 2) just an additional one-off mid-cycle update, mainly because of Lightning and international LTE 3) a new iPad every 6 months for the foreseeable future And if there's a new iPad in March/April...

If the A6 is just Cortex-A9, then what's Apple gonna call the SoC in next year's iPad, presumably Cortex-A15 based? A6X? That would be confusing. A7? From A6 to A7 in 6 months?

Yes, Europe is well behind North America in deployment (but we have pretty fast (DC)-HSPA(+) networks and can easily switch between them, so the need for LTE was less severe). But most European carriers are deploying 800MHz and 2600MHz, not 1800MHz. E.g. in Germany we have 4 carriers and 3 are...

Even more segmenting of SKUs? We already have three (cellular) SKUs with the iPhone 5 AND the european SKU is seriously lacking support for the most widely used LTE bands... Worldphone and missing LTE bands, that would be sad but understandable. But different SKUs AND missing LTE bands?

No, "Europe" gets LTE too. I saw at least a LTE slide with the UK and Germany. But only T-mobile in Germany. I guess that means no 2600MHz support, since AFAIK T-Mobile is the only carrier to use 1800MHz in the cities. Edit: Wow, three different iPhone 5 versions. And no support for 800MHz and...

The new iPod touch looks good. Too bad it starts at $299 for 32GB. It's also interesting that the old $199 iPod touch got bumped to 16GB and 32GB are just $50 more (and no more 8GB version). That's a first. I'm wondering what that means for the rumored iPad mini...

So far I don't see why the new SoC couldn't be a higher clocked and slightly modified 32nm A5. It would just be pathetic for Apple to name such a thing A6. Marketing department's growing influence (like AT&T "4G" last year...)?

Good point, but it's hard to tell how big the SoC is since everything around it changed. AFAIK the only constant might be the length of the SIM slot. The new SIM card tray is supposed to be as long as the old one, just not as wide. The A5R2 is bigger than the A4 but of course smaller than the...

For those who still like to believe in an A6 in the next iPhone: Beware: it's a sketchy picture of a picture on a monitor... http://9to5mac.com/2012/08/30/more-iphone-parts-a6-processor-more-new-9-pin-cables/ Edit: There's some speculation that even if Apple's next SoC is called A6 it...
